About Sacraspice

Sacraspice is a Toronto-based nonprofit that celebrates cultural diversity through food, cooking, and intergenerational learning. Through culturally diverse cooking workshops and community programs, we create opportunities for people to connect across cultures, generations, and communities.

We are looking for a diligent, motivated, connected and creative individual to help us expand our online presence and connect Sacraspice with new audiences, organizations, media, creators, and community partners.

About the Role

The Social Media Growth & Outreach Coordinator will help Sacraspice increase its visibility online by promoting existing content, identifying opportunities for collaboration, engaging with relevant communities, and connecting Sacraspice with organizations and platforms that can help amplify our work.

This role is focused primarily on growth, outreach, engagement, and content distribution, rather than content production. Sacraspice's existing team creates the photography, video, graphics, and other core content.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Distribution & Engagement

  • Engage and promote existing social media content amongst relevant local organizations, creators, food accounts, cultural organizations, and community groups.

  • Identify opportunities to increase organic reach and meaningful engagement.

  • Suggest relevant hashtags, keywords, location tags, mentions, and collaborator tags.

Outreach & Promotion

  • Research culinary blogs, Toronto-based arts & culture blogs, newsletters, community organizations, cultural organizations, media outlets, event calendars, creators, and social media accounts that may be interested in Sacraspice.

  • Build and maintain a database of potential promotional and community partners.

  • Contact relevant organizations and creators regarding opportunities to share or repost Sacraspice content.

  • Identify opportunities for collaborations, features, interviews, event listings, and cross-promotion.

  • Follow up with organizations and contacts as appropriate.

  • Track outreach activity and responses.

Audience Growth

  • Identify relevant accounts and communities that align with Sacraspice's mission and audience.

  • Engage authentically with relevant local and cultural communities.

  • Monitor follower growth and engagement.

  • Identify opportunities to reach new audiences.

  • Periodically review Sacraspice's following list and remove irrelevant or inactive accounts where appropriate.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track outreach efforts and successful reposts/features.

  • Recommend opportunities for future growth based on performance.

What We're Looking For

  • Interest in food and culture, community engagement, social media, marketing and communications.

  • Proven proficiency with Instagram/Threads, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn and Facebook.

  • Strong research and organizational skills.

  • Strong written communication skills.

  • Comfortable reaching out to organizations, creators, bloggers, and community groups.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

  • Creative and proactive when identifying promotional opportunities.

Students or individuals building experience in marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or social media are encouraged to apply.

Success in This Role

Success will be measured by the Coordinator's ability to:

  • Increase Sacraspice's organic reach and relevant audience.

  • Increase meaningful engagement with Sacraspice content.

  • Identify new promotional and community partnerships.

  • Generate reposts, features, event listings, and other amplification opportunities.

  • Consistently distribute Sacraspice content.

  • Build a useful database of community and media contacts.

  • Provide actionable insights about what is working and where Sacraspice can grow.

Time Commitment

2 hours per week with flexibility in when the work is completed.

The position is designed to complement Sacraspice's existing content creation rather than replace it.

Application & Interview Process

As part of the selection process, shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a brief interview with the Sacraspice team.

We are looking for someone who is not only familiar with social media, but who is proactive, organized, and able to identify opportunities to help Sacraspice reach new audiences.

Candidates may be asked to:

  • Share examples of previous social media, marketing, communications, outreach, or community engagement work.

  • Provide a portfolio, social media account, campaign, or other relevant work sample, where available.

  • Discuss how they would approach growing the online presence of a small nonprofit with limited resources.

  • Respond to a short scenario related to promoting a Sacraspice workshop or program.

  • Discuss their availability and capacity to consistently commit approximately 2 hours per week throughout the 11-month contract.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate initiative, creativity, strong research skills, and an ability to identify and pursue opportunities independently.
